Endeavour has an exciting opportunity for a BMS Project Manager to join the Construction Project Team. In this role you will be supporting and managing the BMS design and implementation of Data Center projects throughout the firm.

The BMS Project Manager is responsible for the management and execution of engineering design reviews of building automation systems across the Edged portfolio of sites, including network topology and architecture, controls strategy and logic. The BMS Project Manager works with a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure implementation of best practices and to implement continuous improvement across the installation infrastructure and associated processes in support of projects ranging from individual components, facilities infrastructure and new construction projects. This role interacts with all members of the construction program team including senior management, projects and operations teams, field technicians, and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional custom tooling and their integration into the construction processes as well as supporting other cross-functional program/project initiatives that directly impact the delivery of the BMS while simultaneously working to identify and mitigate risk associated with these efforts.
  • Develop and generate specifications, RFPs, ROMs and SOWs for projects.
  • Develop and enforcing standardization across the Data Center Controls and Monitoring Platforms to enhance speed of implementation, cost efficiencies and quality of service.
  • Travel to data center and vendor sites for engineering studies, on-site technical support, Controls systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning.
  • Lead technically complex Controls engineering projects for the construction project management team. This includes working cross functionally with other technical organizations including design teams, construction, field operations, vendors and R&D.
  • Manage, onboard, and lead the General Contractor BMS Lead(s), the Control Systems Integrator (CSI) and Electrical and Installation (E&I) controls contractor throughout all phases of the project, while developing program efficiency improvements and incorporating lessons learned.
  • Perform BMS inspections (wiring, installation, and commissioning) and validate the status/progress of the projects including supporting the project teams, both internal and external, starting from the early stages of MEP construction by working with project level Construction Managers (both internal and external) to check the health of the project (including schedule).  
  • Aligning internally on program/project related communications to ensure a clear, consistent message to trade partners.
  • Perform regular visits to the assigned regional sites to assess team performance, culture and to support the project benchmark and mock-up process of the BMS installations to assure consistency across the program while coordinating these efforts in a timely manner, to minimize re-work.
  • Work with project level Construction Managers, QA/QC Site leads and General Contractor's to ensure creation, accuracy and maintenance of logic driven schedule for construction, commissioning, and packaged equipment BMS activities.  
  • Coordinate and manage both packaged equipment factory installed controls audits and BMS commissioning audits to ensure specification/requirement adherence and track identified deficiencies through completion.
  • Coordinate and lead large multi-stakeholder meetings on a regular basis and communicate discussions to all key stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Experience with Industrial Automation and Building Management Control Systems (i.e. PLC/DDC).
  • Expert in common controls communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, etc.)
  • 7+ years experience with a combination of Instrumentation and Controls programming/installation, general contractor MEP coordination/project management, commissioning (both mechanical and electrical) of data centers, or other large scale mission critical buildings.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree) or relevant work experience.
  • Experience to research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve system issues within discipline.
  • Experience clearly communicating technical issues.
  • Experience with presentation, project management, and reporting.
  • Experience driving complex projects under pressure.
  • Experience working independently and as a member of a cross functional team.
  • Experience in program development, start-up, and commissioning of electrical monitoring systems, central plants and air handling units.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and life safety systems associated with critical environments.
  • Experience with audit blueprints/CAD drawings and controls diagrams.
  • Experience working and presenting to internal and external stakeholders
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Excellent time-management and team delegation and leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive department strategy in a fast-paced environment
  • Technologically savvy with a willingness to independently learn new technical skills
  • Travel domestically as needed (anticipated 30% travel).

Specific Skills / Abilities

  • Professional experience in data center engineering, mission critical design, construction, operations, maintenance or related industry.
  • Cross-discipline knowledge of multiple critical facility systems.
  • Organizational skills and experience beyond the field technician level in activities such as project management, project engineering, and operations management.
