We are seeking a Director of Regional Network & Connectivity  Operations to work directly with the Operations Team and focus on the design, implementation, engineering, and administration of the company’s network infrastructure at Edged Energy data centers. This is an environment that supports a 24x7 mission-critical operation. Part of the operation is overseeing the execution of data center network operations including core infrastructure standards, compliance, cyber security, maintenance and delivery of data center services including colocation, Carrier connectivity and deployment. The candidate will collaborate with the Security Director as well as the Director of Operations.

Include but are not limited to:

• Design, maintain, and manage an Edged Energy enterprise-wide network infrastructure with support from internal and external teams.
• Maintain a complex network infrastructure supporting a hyperscale data center environment as well as multiple plant operations, environments, and remote locations.
• Develop and document network standards, device templates and change management procedures.
• Ensure implementation plans, test plans, and project timelines for network projects are completed to our standards.
• Manage carrier deployment and connectivity from multiple carriers on behalf of customer requests or Edged Energy corporate requirements.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining the fiber, copper and cabling standards in the Data Center Facilities, Entrance Facility MMRs (Meet Me Rooms), Telecom Closets, etc. and ensuring a neat and clean environment by all technicians and vendors.
• Work with service providers to resolve circuit issues and escalate Carrier issues as necessary.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve critical network connectivity issues. Provide senior level escalation for complex problems.
• Develop and manage remote hands third party contracted services throughout the portfolio.
• Manage vendor quotes for network hardware, software, remote hands, and support contracts.
• Work with multiple internal teams and provide IT Network Engineering support for their various projects.
• Work with business and internal partners to provide connectivity to the Edged Energy environment using secure site-to-site VPN tunnels.
• Responsible for management of deployment for corporate systems rack of and stack standard network equipment – router, switches, firewalls, etc.
• Evaluate current operation processes and documentation, identify areas for improvement, make recommendations, and implement approved enhancements.
• Manage compliance process in respect to Network Infrastructure and NIST standards. Support and participate in maintaining audits in conformance to compliance requirements.
• Manage incidents in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
• Participate in incident postmortem discussions and propose long term solutions.
• Mentor less experienced team members throughout the portfolio.
• Part of on-call support rotation to provide 24 x 7 remote and executive support as required.
• Must be willing to work off-hours / weekends to support operational tasks as needed. May work off-hours/weekends to support business and IT operations for Global Portfolio.

• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• English language proficiency required. Additionally Spanish speaking a Plus.
• Remote site visits may be required to ensure implementation or problem resolution.
• Must be a self-starter able to work independently and with a team.
• Must be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have strong written and verbal skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate with customers, vendors, partners, and business managers across various levels of the organization.
• Well organized, attentive to details and able to meet demanding deadlines.
• Good project management skills

• 7+ years of network engineering experience, with a minimum of five (5) years working in a senior network engineering role.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting routers, switches, wireless devices, and firewalls.
• Experience with routing/switching protocols, IP addressing and protocols (TCP/UDP)
• Experience with Site-to-Site VPNs, Remote Access VPNs.
• Experience with firewall configurations (site-to-site VPN and remote access VPN)
• Experience with WAN deployments including design, implementation and troubleshooting of various types of circuits (T-1, DS-3, etc.).
• Must have experience designing and implementing and supporting high availability network solutions and technologies.
• Experience with industry standard network monitoring, management, and packet analysis tools to monitor and troubleshoot network/application performance and connectivity problems.
• NIST compliance experiences a plus
• Knowledge of industry standards and framework (ITIL, ISO) a plus
