We are seeking a Director, Security Operations to work directly with the Operations Director based in the US and be responsible for the Security program for all Edged Energy facilities in North America.  We are looking for someone who provides technical expertise, program management along with data analysis skills to run the Security program for Edged data centers. The Director, Security Operations for North America will manage the efforts of the Edged Operations security team throughout the portfolio of properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Include but are not limited to:
  • Operational Strategy
  • Oversees risk assessments for the physical security of the sites, closely collaborating with those performing similar functions with cyber security.
  • Develops the physical protection policy and strategy for all properties and personnel.
  • Evaluates and implements technology to use for access control, CCTV surveillance, audit trails, remote alarm monitoring & response, and directly deploys these technologies with support of the project management and site security team.
  • Responsible for managing security system tools and equipment to ensure 100% uptime of all monitoring systems.
  • Coordinates or completes internal/external security investigations.
  • Responsible for managing uniformed security staff, scheduling, and security consultants.
  • Develop contingency/emergency plans, procedures, and corporate response teams.
  • Oversees the security awareness program, security hotline, and security incident database.
  • Coordinates customers special need requirements.
  • Supports the sales team by responding to requests for information related to physical security.
  • Serve as local and portfolio liaison on specific assets relative to immediate customer solutions.
  • Respond in a timely and effective manner to tenant inquiries, issues, and complaints, work in coordination with the appropriate parties at Edged Energy.
  • Clearly articulate value propositions of Edged Energy products and clearly differentiate our product offerings from competitor offerings.
  • Reach out to tenants on a regular basis to form strong working relationships and ensure satisfaction in the Physical Security space.
  • Understand the principal engineering properties of power and cooling, relative to data center operations.
  • Manage the site security team to ensure all visitor access requests and compliance with Edged Energy security rules and regulations are met.
  • Supports compliance audits as required to meet compliance standards.
  • Ensure the site security team works with local authorities in communicating security issues for the property and immediate area.
  • Ensures security officer training is conducted on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Collaborate with Security operations regional, national, and global facility leads in conjunction with the Operations Facility Managers.
  • Implementation and adherence to Edged Energy Security standards.
  • Collaborate with Edged Platform Technology teams on implementing and refining Security Systems strategy as it relates to the Security platform and Facility Operations.
  • Drive process improvements through implementing the results of self-generated audits and implementation of industry leading technology and practices.
  • Manage Security hardware and software implementation and update processes.
  • Oversee and drive Security training and ongoing system maintenance in accordance with project timelines and contractual agreements.
  • Develops and implements policy for the receiving and security of all shipments as well as establishing a tracking system to ensure all packages/deliveries are properly accounted for and delivered by the site security officers.
  • Provide demonstrations of the Security Systems and operations, over MS Teams or in-person, across all relevant stakeholders.
  • Work directly with Facility Operations to optimize calendar-based and condition-based maintenance scheduling structure.
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the designated Security platforms and technology leading improvements.
  • Institute and lead management routines to ensure Security related goals and objectives are met by all site Security Operations teams.
  • Responsible for managing accounts, project settings, and configurations per the Security implementation strategy.
  • Serve as account administrator across the Edged Energy portfolio; assist Operations with technical issues related to the Security Systems including but not limited to training and onboarding new users, establishing, and retiring persons, and PM scheduling.
  • Support the development of Security reports and dashboards as well as automated workflows in partnership with operations support staff and 3rd party monitoring services.
  • Oversee the quality of Edged Energy data in the Security Systems; establish and execute an auditing system that supports meeting the goals and objectives.
  • Ensure financial accuracy of vendor charges and implementation of budgets for the program and specific property cost allocations.

Education and Experience

  • MS/BS degree from a four-year university in business administration or criminal justice and/or a minimum of five to ten years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years implementing security platforms in Mission Critical applications.
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in one or more of the following: software implementation, customer onboarding, maintenance and operations, project management.
  • Experience with product implementation consulting, training material development, product onboarding, and project and account administration.
  • Experience collaborating with facility management & operational teams.
  • Experience working and presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • English language proficiency required. Spanish speaking highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time-management and team delegation and leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences.
  • Requires good organizational skills, attention to detail and an openness to new ideas and procedures.
  • MSOffice applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) in addition to Blue Beam, Autodesk and Security System applications are beneficial.
  • Occasional travel will be required for training and meetings.
