GridBlock has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Lab Technician. In this position you will work directly with the research & development group and prepare experimental setups, realize cablings and electro-mechanical assemblies, perform soldering and repair for product development projects, and help maintain a smooth operation of the research & development laboratory.

• Electrical and mechanical components and subsystems assembly for power electronics products.
• Fabrication of various signal and power wire harness and cable assemblies.
• Perform soldering, desoldering, rework and repair, component replacement, for surface mount (up to 402 size) and through hole on power and signal circuit boards.
• Inspect Electronic Assemblies & PCBs for quality.
• General data acquisition and small signal testing on assemblies
• Prepare experimental setups including equipment set up and wiring.
• Help maintain and organize the research & development laboratory.
• Monitor lab equipment condition and parts inventory.
• All other duties as assigned.

• At least 5 years of experience with soldering surface mount component and through hole component for complex electronics systems/power electronics systems.
• Experience in electronic device assembly, wiring and wire harness assemblies, high-power wiring, mechanical fabrication, and mechanical assemblies.
• Able to read electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
• Experience performing general data acquisition and small signal test (continuity test, impedance measurements, etc.)
• Experience monitoring parts inventory, lab equipment, and helping coordinate procurement.
• Experience writing lab reports on assembly/inspection tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Strong communication skills.
